Reunion Call
This marks the first appearance of this column which will appear from time to time (hopefully) as we receive input from our members.
- Specialty Oximes - If you were involved in the creation of the Specialty Oximes business in the mid 70's, let’s do lunch. This includes the seven year period from the concept until the plant startup in Hopewell, Virginia. If you were involved in the marketing, R&D, manufacturing, financial analysis, safety, environmental, patent, engineering, design, secretarial, toxicology, construction, sales or whatever, you remember the trials and tribulations we all went through during that trying time which led to a very successful business. It would be fun to see each other once again. Just email or drop a line to Harry Alumnus at the H/AREA Contact Point. If we can get ten names, we’ll do it. If you have a suggestion for a good place to go, that would help, too.
- We carefully review all of the notes you send us on your membership renewal form. Among them were:
- From Lawrence Jewart, “There are a large number of retiree’s in the Philadelphia area. The old Honeywell Industrial Division was headquartered here for many years. Who should we see to look into starting an adjunct to the Association in Morristown ? “ Larry - drop me a letter at the H/AREA Contact Point with some more details and we’ll see what we can work out. There also was the large phenol plant in Northern Philadelphia, the Frankford plant. Anne, the wife of our deceased H/AREA member, Tom Insinger, who worked at the phenol plant, is interested to know if there is a group in Philadelphia. If any Frankford alumnus are interested, drop me a line.
- Chuck Brancati reports a few from the old Credit Group meet for a Christmas dinner. Chuck, do you want us to put a notice about it in our H/AREA NEWSLETTER next Christmas ?
- Dan Amorelli reports he lunched in December with former Teterboro associates John Petrillo, Frank Elkins, Dick Molinari, Lee Daviou and Ram Dudley. Keep it going, guys.
- Michael Lorenzo, former Teterboro employee, suggests a dinner dance other than in the winter when all the snowbirds, including Mike, are in the South. Mike, if you’re serious and want to give us a hand, drop me a line.
- David Semosky, who worked at the Stratford facility, tells us, “Engineering, customer support, production, manufacturing people meet once a month at Outriggers Restaurant on the last Thursday of the month for luncheon. All are invited who worked at the Stratford Facility”. That’s great, Dave ! Send us a blurb about it or reminders and we’ll publish it.
- Charles J. O’Neill sent us the following e-mail :” The old General Chemical Div. had a Retiree/Long Time Employee group that met once a year in Morristown - could be some are interested - Two former active persons were Richard Troeger of Chatham and Tina Cody - perhaps they can comment” Are there any comments from the old GCD ?
Let’s see if you H/AREA members can keep this column going (I get paid by the inch). (Editors note: no he doesn’t.)
